Reviews

‘Our family was really struggling to support our 10 year old child who was experiencing issues with anxiety, school refusal and eating. From our very first contact with Diverse Psychiatry, the process was easy and simple. We found Jason to be very empathetic and engaging and he was incredibly respectful of my relationship with my wife, our relationship with each other and with our child. He uses clear, non-threatening language as well as humour, where appropriate, and his communication skills with 10 year olds (and us) was brilliant! We would highly recommend Jason and in the words of our child- he is amazing’.

‘We have been seeing Jason for the past few years and value his advice greatly. He has been an invaluable support to our family through his practical guidance, calm outlook and outstanding communication skills. Jason has a unique ability to identify the core issues quickly and provide advice with positive outcomes’.

This is the second time I have used Diverse and on both occasions I have found Dr Westwater to be extremely professional and personable. He was very conscious of my needs and approached the details of our sessions in a very considerate way. Dr Westwater was a pleasure to speak with, making me feel at ease from the beginning while speaking about quite personal and sensitive content relating to myself. My situation called for a psychiatric evaluation for gender affirming procedures; Dr Westwater demonstrated a high level of knowledge in this space and was very non-judgmental and supportive. I would highly recommend Dr Westwater to others as my experience has been faultless.

‘Earlier this year we were referred to Diverse Psychiatry by our GP to have our child assessed for a possible autism diagnosis and for assistance with gender dysphoria.

We found Dr. Westwater at Diverse to be supportive, personable and professional in his approach to our child. Our sessions with him, both via telehealth and in-person, were easygoing and helpful and our child came away from each session feeling positive, supported and validated. As a parent I felt supported and confident that we were in excellent hands in what can be a difficult to navigate space. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Diverse Psychiatry to anyone needing this kind of service.’

‘I needed a psychiatrist to provide a letter for surgery. I was recommended to Diverse Psychiatry and Therapy. Dr Westwater is a fantastic and knowledgeable psychiatrist who really cares and listens to you. You can discuss anything and no issue is too small or too complex. Highly recommended!!

Jason was incredible. His experience and expertise helped me through a really tough time and I cannot thank him enough.

Client aged 39 years.

We consulted Jason as part of our son’s gender transition, and we couldn’t have had a more positive experience. Jason is extremely kind and gentle and has a brilliant way of communicating weighty information so that it can be easily received and understood. He treated our family with a deep sense of respect and sensitivity and patiently took the time to answer our questions (and address some unexpected technical difficulties we experienced from our end when dialing in remotely). It was clear to us that Jason genuinely cared about us as his clients and was invested in our individual needs and welfare. We are grateful for his compassion, which is often absent in these kinds of clinical interactions, and genuinely appreciate how generously he shared his time and expertise. He is a shining light in an environment that can often feel challenging and confronting, and we cannot recommend him highly enough, especially to anyone who is feeling vulnerable, lonely, unsafe, or unsupported. Gender transition is a massive journey, and we are delighted that Jason was the one who helped guide us along our way.
